Who we are and why we do what we do.
Got a creative itch? Reach out… let's scratch it.
No. It is pronounced Humans. Think fax /făks/
Humanx comes from Human Experience —the realities of human existence, encompassing mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of life— adding the x in experience to the Human.
The thoughtful juxtaposition of the familiar with the unexpected, sets the stage for engaging multiple senses and creating a strong sense of presence, which leads to heightened emotional responses ranging from excitement and wonder to fear and nostalgia.
Humanx exists to scratch that creative itch that may not fit in but refuses to fade away. As we charge towards commoditized, culture is increasingly being flattened into scalable formats, algorithms, and “proven” playbooks that prioritize consumption over participation.
Writing becomes art when it resonates beyond pure information transfer, engages people aesthetically and intellectually, shift understanding, or illuminate something previously unseen. Writers like Joan Didion, James Baldwin, and Zadie Smith have elevated opinion and contemplation to unmistakable art.
Our objective is to free play and its benefits from captivity, including income brackets. Staying clear of the word democratize, given its dilution from baseless marketing copy, is also a priority.
